I got asked what is going on around Blairsville to do over the Christmas holidays, and this is the list I came up with. Can you think of any more?

• Alexander’s Store, for the longest time the closest thing we had to a department store around here, is having what they call a tax-free Christmas sale today the 22nd only. http://www.alexandersstore.com/
• Misty Mountain Railroad is open and is a great view of a very large model train experience. I’m tempted to do that myself today. http://www.mistymountainmodelrailroad.com/
• Lasso The Moon Alpaca Farm is hosting their 4th annual open house from 11am – 3pm both today and tomorrow. http://www.alpacamoon.com/openhouse.html
• Brasstown Valley Resort is nearby just east of Young Harris and offers golfing (too cold for me) and spa services (Equani Spa is very relaxing). They have a bar called Brassie’s downstairs and a full service dining room upstairs. They’ve got entries to their gingerbread house competition displayed downstairs also. http://www.brasstownvalley.com/
• Blairsville Cinema is playing The Hobbit and Jack Reacher this weekend. http://www.blairsvillecinema.com/
• If you like being around small kids, the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway has a neat Christmas ride. They have trips every day except Christmas day. http://brscenic.com/
• For adults with adventure in their hearts, try a tour with Blue Ridge Helicopters. I rode with them in October and loved it. http://www.blueridgehelicopters.com/
• Helen, GA. I don’t remember anything specifically going on there this weekend, but I always like to shoot over to Helen for a visit when I can. There’s just something fun about being in that Alpine-like village in the winter time. http://www.helenga.org/
