On Friday evening of June 3 at 7:00, the Bauman Family Band will perform at The Old Courthouse on the Square in Blairsville.
The Bauman family band is a close-knit, six-member group of musicians consisting of Jeff and Diane Bauman and their four children; Sixteen year old Kenna, Adele 14, Cora 12, and Milo, ten, the youngest member of the band. The Bauman Family is equally comfortable performing in a wide variety of musical styles. They play folk and traditional music in addition to forays into the repertoire of Sting, the Beatles, Bruce Springsteen, and Jason Mraz. The Band, which rehearses at 7:00 every morning before school, has been practicing all year for this event to kick off their summer schedule. The children claim that the rehearsal schedule is very difficult, and that getting into the band was not nearly as hard as getting out.
The Bauman Family has been playing together since 2003. They began performing at their church, First United Methodist Church of Union County, and soon began playing for events throughout the north Georgia community. They perform regularly in churches and at community events such as Outdoor festivals, nursing homes, Relay for Life events, the Union County Historical Society, and other organizations.
The summer concerts are presented by the Union County Historical Society as a public service and to keep alive the tradition of music in the historic building. There is never an admission charge. Voluntary contributions to the maintenance fund are always welcomed and appreciated.
