Maple Ridge Opens Old Courthouse Concert Season

The Union County Historical Society will open its Friday night concert season with a performance by Maple Ridge, a popular regional bluegrass band on May 7 at 7:00 p.m. New this year is an elevator has been installed and is working! There is a special section for wheelchairs as well.

Maple Ridge was formed in 1992 by Bobby Cleland, Clint Childers, Joel Aderhold, and Earleen Aderhold. The group has experience in bluegrass music dating back to 1965. The group enjoys performing traditional and contemporary material, as well as instrumentals. Bobby plays guitar. Clint plays mandolin. Joel plays banjo, and Earleen plays bass. Over the past eighteen years the group has performed at bluegrass festivals, churches, and private functions across the region. They regularly perform at Everett’s Music Barn in Suwannee, Ga. The group normally includes several original compositions in their performances. If you enjoy a blend of traditional bluegrass and more contemporary arrangements you are sure to be entertained at a Maple Ridge concert.

Concerts in The Old Courthouse on the Square are presented by the Union County Historical Society as a public service, and to keep alive the tradition of music in the old courthouse. There is no admission fee. The musicians donate their time and talents. Voluntary donations to the maintenance fund are always welcomed and appreciated.

We mentioned in another topic, but wanted to emphasize here also. The new elevator is installed and working, making for a much easier and safer transit up to the courthouse room level where the concerts take place.

Come on out and enjoy Maple Ridge!
