Making their debut appearance at the Old Courthouse on the Square on Friday, May 30 will be the local Blairsville gospel group, “Looking Up.” Looking Up is a gospel trio of local singers who have a family tradition of gospel singing. Carolyn Filer and Delga Cox are sisters who have been singing together all their lives. Steve Cox is Delga’s husband. They chose the name, “Looking Up” for the name of their group because they look up to God for their help. “Looking Up” has a CD to their credit, and another is in the making. They are very active on the Southeastern gospel music circuit, and the Union County Historical Society is proud and honored to have them present this concert. The summer concert series is presented by the Union County Historical Society as a public service, and to keep alive the tradiotn of music in The Old Courthouse. There is no required admission charge, The musicians donate their time and talents. Voluntary contributions to the maintenance fun are always welcomed and appreciated.
