Love first they have to be downloaded into a site that generates a URL like Photobucket. That's what Taylor used and so do lots of us as well. Then you click on Advanced Editor at the top of the reply and click on the picture tab which looks like mountain tops. Paste the URL in the appropriate box there. It will put the pic in your post and then click on post new reply.

Photobucket is a free site. you cannot use the personal pic place on your computer though because it doesnt generate a URL

What a headache!  Got photobucket, loaded them for 15 min without DSL each, got a ULR, now can't get them on the site.

Not much fun for a day off!

I'm done with that.

How do I turn off that secon line of options thing?  It's making everything I post in double space.  I hate that.

No one is helping me with this.  The advanced editor feature to insert photos was pushed.  The second line on the menu above appeared, it never goes away now and double spaces things and makes all this extra space below my posts, how do I turn that off?

I never could insert a pic.

Sorry Cherry. Dont know what you mean about the double post part but if you IM me I might can figure it out better.

As far as posting the pics, right click on the pic and select copy image location. Place that in the insert photo thingy on advanced editor.

Cherry, I'm definitely not the most advanced computer whiz here, but I can try to help you out.
When you upload a pic to photobucket, click on the box that say "Generate HTML and IMG Code"

It will then go to a page full of choices. I always choose the last one at the bottom of the page - the one that says "URL's for email, Yahoo messenger, AOL messenger, ect"
Then copy the code.

When you want to put the picture into a message on the forum, first go to the "Advanced Editor" button. When you get to the new message/reply screen, click on the the square button that looks like a picture of a mountain. It will open a new little box. Paste the code you copied into the area that says "IMAGE URL" and hit "Submit".
Hopefully this will work. Let me know how it goes -

Also if you dont like using the advanced editor thingy then do what I do. I click on it when needed, then go to your profile, click on the top where it says disable advanced editor, and then you have the regular post reply that your used to.

Cherry, I think I have figured it out.  This is the first time I have use this and got it to work.

I went to photobucket and picked a pic at randon for the test.  I do not know how you would use this with fliker or some other type of photo sharing site.  I will have to work on that later.

However....

Using photobucket.
Pick the photo you want to link
There will be four choices to the right with the code you need to link.
Select "Direct Link" and copy the URL provided there.
Open your topic on the forum and reply to topic.
In the window at the top there is an icon that looks like mountain peaks.  Click on that.
The window that opens contains a field called "Image URL"
Paste the link from your picture in there.  Click Submit and it should appear in your forum window.

I suspect that other photo sharing sites work very similar.

Hope this help.

BTW, don't know any thing about the double spacing.

Thanks y'all for refreshing this topic. I'm always lost when it comes to which thing to cut & paste off of!!

You may have noticed that Shadow has added an image to his signature. This is allowable, however if you wish to add one to yours we ask that the image file not be more than 100 pixels high and 640 pixels wide and any accompanying text should not be more than one line (i.e. an image plus a quote would excessive).

Ok...how do you add a pic to your signature?  I went to the signature box on my profile, and have tried all the doohickeymajiggers (url, link, etc)...on photobucket, but none work.

Topaz, the syntax is:

< img src= " http : // location of file / file name.gif or jpg " >

(you'll have to take out all the spaces though)
Admin edit: Leave the space between "img" and "src"

If the picture is slightly more than 100 pixels high, you can also add:
height="100"
to force it to live within the Admin's guidelines.
