All aboard for the magical Misty Mountain Railroad! This holiday season, tours of Charles Griffin’s incredible model railroad exhibit will be held Wed, Fri & Sat,
December 20, 22 & 23 and 27, 29 & 30, at 2:00 pm.
The largest privately-owned O-scale model railroad layout in the country depicts northeast Georgia from Atlanta to the mountains. It is considered one of the best model train exhibits in the country and is definitely a “must see” in Union County.
During the holiday season, Mr. Griffin is generously allowing donations to benefit the Union County Historical Society. Admission is $5 per person, with children 16 and under free.
This layout was originally designed by Mr. Griffin for the enjoyment of his family and he has very kindly offered it to public viewing. The exhibit is totally open and unshielded, so children need to be accompanied by an adult -- one adult for up to three children. Also, since walkways in the exhibit are narrow, baby carriages and wheelchairs cannot be accommodated.
Please call the Union County Historical Society at 706/745-5493 or visit unioncountyhistory.org if you need additional information.
