Below, is information that I read, in The Union Sentinel, about the Christmas tree lighting at Vogel State Park. I didn't see this anywhere else on here... "Vogel State Park's 3rd Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Program, will start at 5:30 PM on December 2. The hayrides will begin at 5:00 PM carrying park guests and visitors to the ball field from the Visitor's Center. This will be the staging area, with 3 bonfires to stay warm, where you will meet up with others to sing and celebrate the Christmas Season. Caroling and the lighting of a beautiful 25 foot Blue Spruce at 6:00 PM adjacent to the ball field listening to the children's wishes and giving out goodie bags. Also there will be hot cider and hot chocolate at no cost for everyone. The program will be under a roof if inclement weather. Please come out to enjoy this seasonal event at Vogel State Park. Please bring a blanket or chair for seating and to stay warm. Last, but not least, please bring a gift for a child 0-12 years of age unwrapped (no toy guns, knives or dangerours items-please). All of these gifts will be given out to the local children through Union County Sheriff's Department as part of the GIVE-A-GIFT toy drive. Vogel State Park is located 11 miles south of Blairsville, Ga. on Hwy. 19/129. For more information please call at (706) 745-2628. No charge associated with the program. " |
