I have got to do this next year for sure.Kind of curious though, when you've got that many people going through all of those homes for that long, where does everyone go to the restroom? Is it house after house or how does that work? What's the reception? You have to pay for that also or does the $25 cover both days and a party kind of thing? Cherry Blossom

The $25.00 covers the seeing of all the homes plus the reception. You have to have your paid ticket stub to participate in the reception. As far as restrooms goes, you drive from house to house so we stopped at a convience store at one point for gas and we used the restroom while there. I guess though, you could use the bathrooms of the homes your touring, we just didn't have to!

There are rest stops in between homes that have a buffet set up for the tour. Last year the winery in Young Harris, Let's Get Cooking and several other places hosted the event. Real estate agents sponsor some homes, although the homes aren't for sale. Many homes along the route have had decorators design the Christmas decor. The decorators are usually the interior designer the owner worked with on the home's decor. The homes are picturebook elegant and beautifully decorated for the holidays. I hope you are able to attend next year.

WOW! This sounds like lots of fun. I love touring homes. I wish I were going to be there to participate. When we were stationed at Ft. Meade, MD our house was on a homes tour sponsored by the Ft. Meade Officer's Wives Club. It was about 5 days before LJ was born and boy was I tired after it was over with but I had a great time! Joyfulringer |
